March 2025 Update: The Ignited Woman Project

Hey there! As we move into March, I'm back with another update on my journey with the Ignited Woman Project. For those just joining us, I'm working toward consistently making $300 a day online while building something authentic that aligns with who I am and how I work.

February by the Numbers

Let's start with some tangible metrics:

  • $25 earned - My first sale in this new direction! Not $300 a day (yet), but you have to start somewhere.

  • 22 blog posts written, edited, and published

  • 1 complete product finished: The Permission to Process Guide is ready to go!

  • 18 consecutive days posting on Threads as a social media experiment

Content Creation Progress

February was actually quite productive on the content front:

The Real-Life Factor

Here's where I get vulnerable: The end of February threw me a major curveball. While it wasn't directly about me, something significant happened in my middle two kids' world (they're between 20 & 21), and let me tell you …it took me down for a week. (still feel the waves of it.. and it will impact them many times throughout the year)

To be completely honest? I didn't care about making money at that point. "Emotional stability before money" has always been my motto. Sometimes I wish money motivated me more so I could push emotions aside and focus solely on financially recovering from years as a solo parent. But that's just not how I'm wired.

This is the reality of building a business as a parent…. even when your kids are adults. When they're little, they can derail you daily. When they're older, the challenges are less frequent but can be more intense.

Affiliate Marketing Realities

One thing I learned in February is that affiliate marketing comes with its own vulnerabilities. One of my affiliate partners…. a funnel builder I was promoting…. closed down completely. When you don't control the products, you're subject to these sudden changes.

On the positive side, another company I'm an affiliate for created a second version of their product, so I'm excited to start promoting that.

Social Media Experiments

Mid February I decided to try an experiment: 100 Days of Threads. I'm now 18 days in, posting consistently. I won't lie… it's a bit of a mind game when you see low views, and limited engagement… but I'm sticking with it to create a consistent habit, see what naturally emerges, and keep my pulse on this social media platform.

I really liked Threads at first, but it's starting to feel like an echo chamber. I may complete my 100 Days of Threads challenge and then pivot toward Facebook. I haven't done much business building on Facebook…. it's mostly been where I share personal updates about my kids. But now that they're older, it might be time to start utilizing that platform for my business as well.

The Hard Truth & Personal Reflections

February brought out my snarky side. It's frustrating to feel like I'm going around in circles for all these years… learning, but not visibly growing at the pace I'd like.

I've come to realize that building an online business is a lot like golf (even though I don't actually like golf despite having worked for years on the grounds maintenance crew of golf courses). You love the game, but you also hate it. It's frustrating, yet you constantly go back to refine your skills and get better. I guess I'm playing my own version of golf these days: trying to build an online business and work up to that $300 a day goal.

For sure, there are deep roots forming in this online business journey. The visible progress may not match the underground development that's happening….. much like a plant that appears to be doing nothing while developing a strong root system.

Looking Forward to March

For March, I'm starting the creation process on two exciting bigger projects:

  • The Imaginarium Source Book

  • The Storyscape World Builder Project

These are bigger undertakings, so I don't have a specific completion date yet. What's exciting is that all these separate pieces I'm creating will ultimately feed into one another.

The Hard Truth

I'm not beating myself up about the modest financial results. I've learned an important lesson: "If you build it, they will come" doesn't quite work. You need offers, you need products, and you need to actively promote them.

February was a month of creation, learning, and honoring my priorities. March will be about building on that foundation while continuing to put myself and my work out there.

As always, I'm sharing this journey…. messy parts and all…. to show what it really looks like to build something authentic while navigating real life.
